Last week I spent the week in Newcastle with my parents. We made the most of each day and went to Matfen Hall for afternoon tea. Matfen Hall is a stately home just outside of Newcastle, which is set in 300 acres of parkland. It is a beautiful setting, and the views are spectacular, especially on a fine day.
The three of us ordered afternoon tea with Rington’s tea (my favourite!). It’s priced at £15.95 a head, or you can go all out and have a glass of fizz too for £23.95. We had a selection of sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and miniature cakes. The scones are always my favourite, and it has to be clotted cream – not butter, that just won’t do!
I wore my new favourite jacket which I blogged about here. It was a lovely day, especially spending some quality time with my parents.
