If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have had a sneaky peak at the Teami Skinny Tea I’ve been drinking over the last month. I was contacted by the girls at Teami to ask if I’d be interested in their detox programme, which I was a little dubious about as I’ve tried other tea detox products and they’ve really upset my stomach. This was prior to my IBS diagnosis, so this time I was very conscious about it. I decided against the colon cleanse tea and just to go with the Teami Skinny tea, which is meant to boost your metabolism.
Teami Skinny Tea Ingredients
- Oolong,
- Yerba Mate,
- Lime leaf Extract,
- Lotus leaf,
- Ginger Root,
- Dandelion leaf,
- Rhubarb Root.
How Do You Drink It?
Add one teaspoon of the tea leaves to your strainer, I recommend getting the Teami one as they’re just so cute (I also wish I had £1 for every time someone at work asked me what it was!), and brew for 3-5 minutes. It is recommended that you have this upon waking, and I was consuming this as my first drink in a morning at work. You’re also advised not to drink other tea or coffee whilst drinking it.
How Does Teami Skinny Tea Taste?
If I’m going to be consuming something on a daily basis, I want it to taste good, and if I’m honest, this is one of the major pro points for Teami Skinny tea – it tastes like a very mild green tea, and that is even after brewing for over 5 minutes. I absolutely love the taste and think even those who don’t enjoy herbal teas would be able to enjoy this.
My Experience
The first week that I drank Teami Skinny tea, I did exactly as I was advised; I drank this each morning, around an hour before eating breakfast and cut out all other tea and coffee from my day. Cutting the tea and coffee out was difficult as I work in an office and we all get in rounds of drinks for each other throughout the day, but I stuck to it. I felt awake and energised, more so than with my usual 4 cups of tea. I found that after eating my breakfast, I had no problem waiting until lunch for my next meal and wasn’t even tempted to snack. You can keep your tea leaves to re-brew in the afternoon, so I took to doing this after lunch to beat the afternoon slump and it definitely worked.
For the consecutive weeks, I’ve adapted this to add the tea to my daily life, without restricting myself, therefore if I have a feeling it is going to be one of those days where I’m going to be snacking (you just know, don’t you?), I start off with Teami Skinny. I’ve gone back to enjoying a cup of regular tea, as I do really love a good cup of English Breakfast tea, and I was missing it if I’m honest. By not restricting myself, I know I will be able to make Teami Skinny part of my daily routine long term.
I’d like to try the Colon Cleanse tea from Teami in the future, perhaps when I’m a little more in control of my IBS as I’ve read rave reviews about it. For now though, I’m happy with Teami Skinny, to give me that little boost and to stop me snacking, which are my two main concerns.
I’d recommend the brand to everyone (unlink other detox tea’s), and I actually have a 10% discount code if any of you are interested in trying – BYLJ, if you do try, please let me know what you think, I’d love to hear from you.

I always get really worried about detox teas but this sounds like the perfect middle-ground! I mostly drink green tea or lemon and ginger anyway so I think I need to give this a try as my tummy always starts to rumble well before lunch haha!

Wow that’s so good that’s kept you full for so long! I can never go from breakfast to lunch time without a couple of snacks in between. The fact that it tastes like green tea makes it so much more appealing too!

I’ve never been tempted by “skinny teas” before, but you might just have made me want to try these 🙂
